Description
Woodcot House is a house, probably built in the late 18th century, which was enlarged in the 19th century and altered. It is constructed of uncoursed killas rubble with granite quoins and dressings, topped with a slate roof and featuring brick chimneys. The building has an L-plan layout formed by a four-unit front range aligned on a north-south axis, with an added wing at the rear of the south end.
The house is two storeys high and has four bays. The doorway is located in the second bay, accessed by two steps, and features a recessed door with a panelled reveal. The first and third bays have 16-pane sashed windows, while there are two smaller 12-pane sashes to the right. The first floor has four 16-pane sashes, all with exposed boxes, and the larger windows are unhorned. There are gable chimneys and a ridge chimney at the junction of the third and fourth bays, which may have originally been a gable. The left end wall includes two small 4-pane fixed windows at the ground floor.
The rear wing, which continues from the left end, is symmetrical with two storeys and two bays. It has a central doorway with a granite surround and 16-pane sashed windows on both floors, along with one chimney on the ridge and another at the left gable. The rear and interior of the house have not been inspected.
