Description
This building, located approximately 75 metres west of Pellor House, is a garden house that likely served as a granary, along with its flanking walls. It dates from the early 19th century. The structure is made of mixed rubble with granite sills and features rubble 4-centred arches. It has a scantle slate semi-conical roof that is hipped at the rear, topped with a brick chimney on the rear wall.
The building has a D-shaped plan with a fireplace against the straight rear wall, which is linked on either side to a tall rubble garden wall. The entrance on the ground floor is positioned in the right-hand angle, while a loading doorway on the first floor is located in the middle of the bowed front, above a ground floor window. There are first floor windows on either side, all with steep 4-centred arched heads, except for the ground floor middle window. The openings feature 20th-century ledge doors with integral top lights and 20th-century casement windows. The interior has not been inspected. This building is a very unusual type, likely a granary, designed in a Gothic style as a folly.
