Description
Calerna is a house located on Vicarage Road in Breage, built around the early 19th century. It is constructed of shale rubble with granite dressings and features an asbestos slate roof, along with brick chimneys on the right-hand gable end and over the cross party wall. The house has a double depth plan, consisting of two equal front rooms on either side of a central cross passage, which likely leads to a central stair between shallower rear service rooms. It is two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window front with a central round-headed doorway. The doorway and windows have been replaced with 20th-century versions, but they remain in the original openings. The interior has not been inspected. Calerna is part of a semi-planned group of buildings surrounding a triangular village green, which is now enclosed.
