Description
Bridge Cottage is a house that likely dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from shale rubble and features an asbestos slate hipped roof with brick chimneys on the side walls. The building has a double depth central stair plan and an integral wing at the right rear with a gable end. It stands two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The entrance is located under a lower arch than the flanking windows and features a 19th-century panelled door and a 20th-century open wooden porch. Above the entrance is a 12-pane hornless wooden sash window, while the other slightly wider windows are 16-pane hornless wooden sashes. All openings are topped with cambered brick arches. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included for its group value.
