Description
Moor Cottage is a small house dating from the early 19th century. It features painted rubble walls, a hipped low-pitched asbestos slate roof with projecting eaves, cast iron ogee gutters, and painted brick chimneys on the side walls. The building has a double depth plan with two equal reception rooms on either side of a central passage that leads to a central stair, flanked by two shallow rear service rooms. There is also a 20th-century single-storey lean-to on the left side. The cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window south front with a central doorway. The entrance includes a four-panel door that has been later glazed in the top panels, along with an overlight. The ground floor windows are wide canted bays with early 20th-century iron casements inserted into widened openings, while the first-floor windows are original 16-pane hornless sashes with shallow arches above. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included for its group value.
