Description
Brick House is a house that was formerly a public house, originating in the 18th century and largely altered in the early 19th century. It features a brick front in Flemish bond, with granite quoins and rubble walls at the rear and sides. The roof is hipped and covered with asbestos slate, and there are brick chimneys over the side walls. The building has a double depth central stair plan and stands two storeys tall. The front has three windows, with a central door flanked by taller windows; the left window has 12 panes and the right has 16 panes. The first floor has 12-pane square wooden sashes with high meeting rails. All openings have slightly cambered brick arches, and all sashes are without horns. The cornice board has triglyphs that appear to have been cut back. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
