Description
This house, located at 6 Vicarage Road in Breage, is one of two similar adjoining houses built around the early 19th century. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and features an asbestos slate roof, along with brick chimneys on the left gable end and over the cross party wall. The house has a double depth plan, consisting of two equal front rooms on either side of a central cross passage, which likely leads to a central staircase situated between shallower rear service rooms.
The building stands two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with three windows. The central entrance features a round-headed doorway with a six-panel door that has round-headed top panels and a fanlight above with a round central pane. It is adorned with a debased distyle Doric wooden porch. The original windows are hornless sashes, with 12-pane sashes on the ground floor and 16-pane sashes on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a semi-planned group around a triangular village green, which is now enclosed.
