Description

The stables and carriage house, located 10 metres to the east of Treblethick Farmhouse, were built in 1830 for A Hambly. Constructed from local slate stone rubble, the building features dressed slate stone segmental arches and a rag slate roof with gable ends. The overall rectangular plan includes a carriage house situated near the farmhouse on the higher right side, with the entrance located in the right gable end. The stable is on the left, with a loft above. The exterior is two storeys high, displaying a regular south-west elevation that faces the yard, featuring segmental arched openings. There is a wide segmental arch for the carriage house on the right side, and the original plank doors and door frames are still in place. Above the entrance, there is a slate plaque with the datestone '1830 A Hambly'. The left gable end contains brick pigeon holes. Inside, the stalls have been largely removed.
