Description

Lanjore Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse with later 19th-century additions and a few alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble, with some slate-hung sections, and features a slurried slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The building has a double depth plan, with a central entrance and principal rooms of equal size on the front right and left. The dairy is located at the rear, and the kitchen is to the rear left.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window range. All windows are early 19th-century three-light casements, each with ten panes and cambered heads, fitted with L hinges. The central porch has a hipped roof and glazed sides, resting on a brick plinth, and includes a half-glazed margin glazed door, along with an inner panelled and glazed door. To the left, there is a straight joint leading to a lean-to addition from the later 19th century. The right side features a two-light casement for the dairy on the ground floor. The attic storey has a central round-headed two-light casement. The left side has a three-light casement in the lean-to and a similar attic window.

At the rear, the first floor has two-light casements to the right and left, similar to those on the front, and a central twelve-pane casement with L hinges that lights the stair. The ground floor has a 20th-century three-light casement to the right, a central two-light casement (formerly a door), and a single-storey addition to the left, which also has a two-light casement. The rear of the lean-to features a 20th-century stable door with a segmental head. The interior has not been inspected.
