Description
Merthyn Farmhouse is a building of mixed dates, primarily 18th century, although it bears a date stone indicating work in 1632. It is two storeys high with three windows on the front elevation. The exterior is stuccoed, likely over stone. The roof is slated and hipped, with two end stacks. The windows are shallow segmental arched, with double-hung sashes and glazing bars. The central doorway is plain, featuring a recessed panelled door and a four-light transom. A date stone bearing the date 1632 is located directly beneath the first-floor window. A two-storey extension is on the left, or north side, also stuccoed and with one window bay. This extension features a casement window on the ground floor and a double-hung sash with glazing bars above. It has a half-hipped slate roof and a single stack on the left side.
