Description
Trelowsa Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around the 1820s. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate hung front elevation with rag slates. The roofs are made of asbestos slate and slate, extending over an integral outshut at the rear. The building has rendered brick end stacks. The layout consists of a double depth plan with the entrance located to the left of the center. There are two main rooms at the front, likely a parlour on the left and a larger hall kitchen on the right, both heated by end stacks. A dairy is located at the rear left, a back kitchen at the rear right, and there is a dog-leg stair at the back of the passage. The farmhouse was further extended in the 19th and 20th centuries with service outshuts on the right-hand end and to the rear right.
The exterior is two storeys high with a regular three-window slate hung front featuring complete early 19th century 16-pane hornless sashes. There is a 20th century glazed porch slightly left of center, flanked by two sashes, with three similar sashes above. A lean-to service outshut is present on the right-hand gable end. Inside, there are complete partitions with 19th century carpentry and joinery details, along with an early 19th century simple dog-leg stair with stick balusters.
