Description

The gate piers and gate, located about 15 metres northwest of Cremyll House, date from around 1780. The gate is a 20th-century reproduction of the original. The structure features brick piers that are square in plan and approximately 3 metres high, topped with a cornice and shaped top, and adorned with cannon ball finials. The gates have a shaped top with an overall segmental head forming a frame. A scrolled wrought iron overthrow is present, with circles on the left and right containing wrought iron anchors and a central plume of feathers. This gateway served as the private entrance to Cremyll House from the quay to the north.
