Description
The entrance gate and piers, located approximately 500 meters northeast of Trewithen House, date from the early 19th century. The wrought iron gate features closely spaced vertical bars adorned with ball decorations above the central rail and intersecting circles between the top rails. The key pattern stiles are embellished with fleurs de lys beneath arches. The west pier, which closes the gate, is made of freestone ashlar and includes a plinth, a square shaft with an incised key pattern, and a shallow pyramidal cap topped with acroteria. The east pier is a 20th-century concrete replica.
