PROBUS SW 94 NW 5/34 Bart-liver Farmhouse, garden walls, iron railings and gate to south

Farmhouse, front garden area walls, C19 iron railings and gate. Circa late C18 house with C17 rear wing remodelled in early C19. Shale rubble with granite dressings, half hipped Delabole slate roof and brick chimneys over side walls. L- shaped plan with outshut to C17 wing in angle and single storey extension at right angles to wing. South front is 2 storeys with 3 windows. Central 6 panel door with lead covered hood on corbels. Other openings are slightly arched with granite jambstones and voussoirs. Paired 12 paned sashes to ground floor and paired 9 pane sashes over with 9 pane sash over door. 2 storey west front of rear wing has irregular openings and large external C17 chimney to left gable. Hipped end of main block to right projects slightly and incorporates older walling. Interior has much surviving from the late C18 period including freestone flagged floors and kitchen, a chimney piece with fluted frieze, open welled stair, 4 panelled doors to ground floor and 2 panelled ones to first floor. Subsidiary features of coped front garden wall linked to low wall with iron railings over granite copings and iron gate. Shale rubble and cob walled courtyard adjoining at back with open fronted inlay on granite posts.
