Description

The limekiln, now disused, is located 2 meters southeast of the Union Cellars in St Endellion and dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with dressed stone arches. The structure has a square plan featuring dressed stone basket arches and deep splayed reveals at the openings on the northwest and southeast sides. The kiln flue remains intact. It is built into a steeply sloping bank and has a slate stone retaining wall that provides access for top loading. The limekiln is situated 150 meters southwest of Port Gaverne quay.
