Description

Holywell is a holy well dedicated to St Lalluwy, mentioned in documents from the 13th and 14th centuries. It was rebuilt, likely using reused materials, in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of granite and features a granite roof with gabled ends, set within a rubblestone wall that is square in plan. The front (south) has a two-centred arch with a cavetto moulding on the arch and jambs, along with recessed spandrels that have raised bosses. The stones of the arch and spandrels appear to be reused and were probably originally set the other way to create a four-centred arch. The well opening is square.
