Description
Torr Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around the mid-18th century, with an extension added in the 1860s. The building features rubblestone with slate hanging on the south front and the left-hand gable end, topped by a slate roof with gable ends. There are brick stacks on the south front slope and gable ends, as well as a rear axial brick stack. The original layout consists of a two-room and cross passage plan, which was extended to double depth in the 1860s, and the entrance has been re-orientated to the north elevation. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic and has a symmetrical three-window south front. Both the ground and first floors have three 16-pane sash windows with crown glass and granite lintels. The slope of the roof was altered when the farmhouse was extended to accommodate the two rooms. The interior has not been inspected.
