The Haven And Cottage Adjoining The Haven

The Haven and the adjoining cottage are two cottages that possibly date back to the 17th century. They feature whitewashed rubble walls with upper sections made of plastered cob and have a thatched roof with brick chimneys at each gable end. The buildings are two storeys high and have an asymmetrical front with four windows.

On the ground floor to the left, there is a canted bay window with 12 large panes and two side panels, each with three panes. To the right of this bay window is a 20th-century partly glazed door, along with a two-light horizontal sliding sash window with glazing bars. Above, there are three two-light horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars.

On the right side of the elevation, below slightly lower eaves, there is a 19th-century timber panelled door on the left, with a 12-pane horizontal sash window with glazing bars to the right. Between these two ground floor openings, there is a two-light horizontal sliding sash window with glazing bars located above on the first floor.

At the rear, on the south side, there is a stone rubble extension under a sloping thatched roof, which is one and a half storeys high and asymmetrical. The ground floor has one four-pane window and one two-pane window, while the first floor features a two-light casement window. There is also a brick chimney in the asymmetrical gable end. Additionally, there are a series of single-storey flat-roofed 20th-century extensions on the south elevation, with a large 20th-century two-light window without glazing bars near the angle of the extension. The interior has not been inspected.
