Description

Tolgullow House is a house, now divided into two dwellings, built around 1830 and altered since. It is constructed of coursed squared granite with quoins, and the first floor is covered by scored stucco. The roof is concealed. The building has a rectangular double-depth plan, with various additions to the rear that are not of special interest.

It stands two storeys high and has three symmetrical bays. The ground floor, which used to have a prominent verandah, features a central doorway with splayed voussoirs and a keystone in a run-out lintel, flanked by large quoins. The door is recessed and has been altered. There are large tripartite windows, sashed without glazing bars, with rendered surrounds applied over large quoins. The first floor has 4-pane sashed windows with keystones and a parapet that conceals the roof. Gable chimneys are present.

At the right-hand end, there is a short embattled screen wall with two large blind windows that have two-centred arches, and a returned end with a similarly arched doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
