Description

Wye Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the early 18th century and altered since. It is constructed of rubble and cob, painted white, with a thatched roof. The cottage has a rectangular, single-depth plan and a symmetrical three-bay facade. The ground floor is built of rubble, while the first floor is of cob, slightly projecting. A central doorway has a plain reveal, and there are two horizontal-sliding sash windows at ground floor and three smaller ones under the eaves above. The ground floor windows have 16 panes, and the upper windows have 12 panes. The thatched roof is steeply pitched, with external chimney stacks at both gables. The left-hand gable chimney stack is particularly large, with offsets, and has a small casement inserted to the rear. A modern, flat-roofed addition extends to the rear. The interior has been altered.
