Description

House, dating from circa 1840 and subsequently altered. The house is built of lime plaster on rubble, with a slate roof. It has a rectangular, double-depth plan under a 2-span roof. The symmetrical facade has two storeys and three bays, with a plinth, band, and channelled corner pilasters. The central entrance features a glazed and panelled door with an overlight, sheltered by a wooden porch with fluted columns and pilasters, very shallow semi-elliptical arches, and a flat roof. The windows are 16-pane sashed windows with raised sills and plain reveals. The roof is hipped, with a front-wall chimney to the right and a side-wall chimney to the left. The right-hand side and rear walls have a modern conservatory at ground floor level. The rear elevation includes a 2-centred arched stair window with intersecting glazing bars. The interior features moulded plaster cornices, a dog-leg staircase with an open string, scrolled brackets, stick balusters, and a mahogany handrail.
