Description
A pair of cottages located in Lansallos, near Polperro, built around the early 19th century. They are constructed of stone rubble with a slate roof and gable ends, and feature a rendered chimney stack on the left-hand gable. The cottages have a symmetrical two-window facade and a one-room plan, mirroring each other. Compass Cottage on the left has a 19th-century four-pane sash window beneath a brick segmental arch, and a partly glazed door to the right. Penny Cottage on the right has a 20th-century partly glazed stable-style door and a 19th-century twelve-pane sash window without horns. The first floor of Compass Cottage has a 19th-century four-pane sash with a brick segmental arch on the left, and a 20th-century two-light window on the right. The second floor has similar window arrangements. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are listed for their group value.
