Description

Nos. 11 and 12 are a pair of cottages, probably built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from slatestone rubble and feature a gabled Delabole slate roof with a large axial brick stack. The cottages have a double depth layout with two rooms per cottage and are two storeys high, including the roof space. The west-facing front, which looks towards the gateway to Tregothnan House, is designed to be slightly irregular. Each cottage has an entrance on the left and right, both topped with scissor-braced gable-roofed heads supported by shaped corbels. The left cottage includes a 4-light roofed bay window and a 2-light window in the gable above. The right cottage features a 3-light window in a plain opening and a dormer with a gable and a 2-light window above. The casements are fitted with latticed iron glazing bars. The entrance to the left is slightly set back, with a wall to the right that adjoins a gate pier. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are included for their group value.
