Description

Nos. 9 and 10 are a pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century. They feature stuccoed stone rubble walls and a gable-ended slate roof, with a central rendered axial stack that serves both cottages, although it is unclear if both rooms are heated. Each cottage has a single-fronted, likely double-depth plan with an entry passage on the outer side. The symmetrical two-window front has identical one-window facades for each cottage. The original small-paned two-light casements still have their 'pin-hinges' for external shutters, which are no longer present. At the left and right ends, there are probably original plank doors beneath gabled doorhoods. All ground floor openings are topped with slate dripstones. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are included for their group value.
