Description

The Churchyard Cross in Buckland Monachorum is a medieval structure that was largely reconstructed in 1897. It features a granite octagonal Latin cross on a tall shaft, which dates from the 19th century. The cross stands on four tiers of steps with an octagonal chamfered base, likely original to the cross. The steps are carved with the dates 1837-1894 and the name "Victoria," commemorating the restoration that celebrated the queen's Jubilee.
