Description
The Baptist Hostel, originally a Baptist Chapel, was built in 1850. It features rubble walls and a gable-ended slate roof. The building has a single room plan that originally included a gallery at the west end, which has since been removed, likely when it was converted to a hostel in the later 20th century. It is a single-storey structure with symmetrical elevations, each side showcasing four lancet windows separated by gabled buttresses. The east gable end, which faces the road, has a three-light lancet window. The windows are fitted with cast iron 'diamond' glazing bars. There is a 20th-century addition at the rear, and the interior has had its original fittings removed.
