Description

The wall at the south and west sides of the Church of St Michael Churchyard is likely from the 1860s. It is constructed of slate rubble arranged vertically in horizontal courses, featuring decorative circular panels at intervals on the south side. These panels are made with slates laid in a herringbone pattern, using horizontal, vertical, and diagonal placements. The gate piers at the west entrance are set on over-moulded plinths from an earlier period. The cattle grid has been filled in. There are also a pair of upright 19th-century wooden gates with chamfered rails and iron fastenings located between the gate piers at the south entrance.
