Description

A pair of semi-detached council houses dating from approximately 1922, designed by P. Edwin Stevens. The houses are constructed of quarried granite rubble with granite dressings, and have scantle slate hipped roofs with sprocketted eaves. The roof slopes are lower on the left and right sides. Rendered stacks are present.

The plan is of a pair of identical but mirror-image houses, forming an overall U-shaped plan. This incorporates full-depth kitchen/living rooms in the central section, with front parlours and rear sculleries at either end. Each scullery projects into short wings at the rear. A central lobby and staircase are present within each house.

The two-storey, unaltered elevations feature a four-window front with panelled doors incorporating small lights above. Granite hoods on corbels are positioned over the doorways. Casement windows with glazing bars are set within original openings. The interior has not been inspected.
