Description
Sea View, originally known as Vine Cottage, is a 18th-century building that was originally two cottages but has been converted into one. It features whitewashed rubble walls with upper plastered cob walls and a thatched roof. The building has rendered brick chimneys located at the gable ends and in the ridge to the right. It is two storeys high, with the left side displaying a regular two-window front and a central doorway that has a 19th-century wooden gabled porch with a slate roof. The right side has an asymmetrical window, a blocked entrance, and a window to the right and above. All windows are two-light horizontal sliding sashes. Inside, there is a chamfered lintel over the fireplace in the central room, which may feature reused timber. The first floor has horizontal boarded panelling, and there is an early 19th-century door leading to the rear on the upstairs landing. The cottage is built into the side of a hill, and the rafters are pegged at the apex and at the collar.
