Description
Clifton Cottage is a 18th-century middle cottage of three located in Grade-Ruan, Cadgwith. It is constructed of whitewashed rubble, with the upper rear wall made of unplastered cob. The cottage features a thatched roof and rendered chimneys. It is two storeys tall and almost symmetrical in design. On the left side, there is a four-pane horizontal sliding sash window, while the right side has a larger eight-pane horizontal sliding sash window. A 20th-century stable door is positioned centrally and is accessed by stone steps. Above the ground floor windows, there are two twelve-pane horizontal sliding sash windows. The chimneys are located on the ridge at the junction with the adjacent cottages. A raised pavement extends in front of both Clifton Cottage and the neighboring Smyrna. The interior has been significantly altered and was not inspected.
