Description

No. 30, Arwennack Street is a shop premises dating to the 1830s, with later 19th-century alterations. The building is constructed of stucco over brick, with incised quoin pilasters, a second-floor sill string, and window architraves. It has an asbestos slate roof with slightly projecting eaves and two 20th-century roof dormers, and brick end stacks. The building follows a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with a two-window front. The second floor has 20th-century windows. The first floor features late 19th-century oriels with horned sash windows, splayed corner pilasters, and a moulded entablature. The ground floor has a late 19th-century moulded entablature and incised end pilasters with stylized decoration framing a large double shop front. To the right of the shop front is the original four-panel house door and overlight. The interior remains uninspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
