Description
26 and 28 Arwenack Street is a town house with later shops, built in the early 19th century. The exterior features stucco on a rubble front and a scantle slate roof, which is grouted on the right side. There are end stacks, including a truncated rendered stack on the left and a rendered stack on the right. The building has a double-depth plan and is low at two storeys with a three-window range. The original windows are 16-pane hornless sashes, although the glazing bars have been removed from the sash on the left. The ground floor contains two early to mid-19th century shop fronts, which have incised end pilasters and a bead and reel cornice, along with a later fascia and glazing. The shop front for No. 26 (on the left) features an old glazed door with a squat bottom panel. The interior has not been inspected.
