Description
The building located approximately 40 metres west of Capstan Cottage is likely a former fisherman's cellar and loft, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and features a concrete tile roof with brick chimneys on the left-hand gable end. The building has a rectangular plan built into the bank at the rear, with a ramp leading up to the first-floor doorway in the right-hand gable end.
The exterior is two storeys high at the front and retains its original elevations. The north front has one window, with a ground floor doorway on the left and a 16-pane casement window on the right at the first floor. There is a wide doorway at the left-hand gable end, along with an original two-light casement window at the first floor left, which has vertical glazing bars and random panes. The doors are old ledged doors. The interior has not been inspected. This building is one of two similar structures that remain from a demolished complex associated with the fishing industry in Sennen Cove.
