Description
Glasgow House and Woodhouse is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It was likely built in the mid to late 19th century and has undergone slight alterations. The building is constructed from uncoursed killas rubble, featuring granite quoins and dressings, and has a composition tile roof. It has an L-shaped plan, with a receding wing at the rear of the right-hand end, which is now a separate dwelling.
The house is two storeys high and consists of three bays, arranged symmetrically. The central doorway features a six-panel door with a three-pane overlight above it. On the ground floor, there are two 12-pane unhorned sash windows, with three similar windows above on the upper floor. All these openings have quoined jambs and rectangular lintels. The roof is hipped with projecting eaves, and there is a small modern chimney located behind the right-hand end of the ridge.
On the right-hand return wall, there is one similar window on each floor of the first bay. The continuation of the building, known as Woodhouse, has a narrow doorway at the right-hand end, which now has a glazed door. Above this doorway, there is a 16-pane sash window, and to the left, there is a 20-pane sash window on each floor. The rear and interior of the building have not been inspected.
