Description
The tombchest of John Kitto, located 6 meters south of the south porch of the Church of St Ivo, dates from around 1749. It was erected by John Kitto in memory of his son John, who was buried in December 1749, and his daughter Mary, who was buried in March 1737. The tombchest is made of ashlar slate stone and features a moulded slate stone lid. The lid has a recessed well and is inscribed with a dedication around the edge, along with a verse in a rectangular frame at the center, flanked by decorated panels.
