Description
The tombchest of Thomas Rattle, located 8 meters north of the Church of St Ivo, was erected in 1746 by William Rattle of Cadson in memory of his son. It is made of ashlar slatestone and features a moulded slatestone lid. The rectangular stone lid has chamfered corners and is well engraved with a dedication around the edge, with a verse in the central panel. This tombchest can be compared to the one erected by William Rattle for his wife, Katharine, which is located 5 meters north of the church.
