Description
East Bealbury Farmhouse is a farmhouse that may date back to the 17th century, with later additions. It is constructed of rubblestone, featuring a rendered gable end on the east side. The roof is slate, with a gable end on the right of the right-hand range, which includes a projecting two-storey porch. There is also a cross wing that projects forward on the left side, and a catslide roof over a rear outshut. The right-hand gable end has a rubblestone projecting external stack, while the east gable end of the cross wing has a rendered brick chimney shaft. There is another rubblestone projecting stack at the rear gable end, but its shaft has been removed.
The farmhouse likely originally had a three-room and through passage layout, with a later cross wing on the left creating an 'L' shaped plan. The later two-storey porch is now blocked, and the entrance is located in the angle between the main range and the cross wing. The building is two storeys high and has a regular four-window front. On the ground floor, there is a partly glazed 20th-century door to the left of the central gabled projection, a 20th-century window, and an early 20th-century three-light casement to the right, all beneath timber lintels. The first floor features three early 20th-century three-light casements, with the central casement set beneath a brick segmental arch. The left-hand projecting wing has a tripartite sash window and a three-light casement, both without glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
