Description
The Rectory is an early 19th-century building, originally a rectory. It is rendered with a slate roof and has brick stacks in gable ends. The building has a double-depth plan and a Classical design. The front facade is symmetrical, originally with a nine-window arrangement, but now reduced to a three-window, single-window, three-window layout, with the bays on either side being two-storey segmental bays. The ground floor has six 12-pane sashes, three to each bay, and a 6-panelled door. Above, there are seven similar sashes, all without horns and with crown glass. A high parapet with a moulded cornice bows outwards over the bays. A moulded parapet originally continued along the side walls. The interior has not been inspected. A photograph of the building prior to alterations, taken by Michael Trinick in 1954, is held in the National Monuments Record.
