Description
Ayr Cottage is a pair of attached houses built around 1840. They are constructed of stucco with limestone dressings and feature a pantile roof. The houses have a double-depth plan and are two storeys tall with a three-window range. The front is nearly symmetrical and includes an attached cottage at the rear. There is a central two-storey semicircular-arched recess beneath a cornice and tall parapet. The doorway features a plain architrave and cornice, an overlight, and a 20th-century door. The windows are 20th-century casements, with the top left window being blind. Ayr Cottage has a left side semicircular-arched doorway and a one-window range with cambered headed windows that contain 6/6-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected. Along with the neighboring No. 15, Ayr Cottage represents an unusual form of semi-detached house.
