Description

Kinross Cottage and its attached side area railings is a pair of houses dating from around 1850. The houses are rendered with limestone dressings and have a pantile roof. They are built on a double-depth plan and have a basement, two storeys and a three-window front. The symmetrical front elevation features pilasters with acanthus capitals, a first-floor sill band, a frieze, a cornice and a tall parapet. Matching first-floor pilasters are present at the central window. The front door is panelled and the ground floor has a 20th-century window on the left and a four-pane sash window on the right. The first floor has six-pane sash windows. The right-hand side has a 20th-century doorway and a single-window range with cambered heads to six-pane sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. Attached to the side are wrought-iron railings. Together with the neighbouring numbers 12 and 13, the cottages represent an unusual form of semi-detached house.
