Description

Number 48 is an attached house located on St Michael's Hill in Bristol, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with brick gable stacks, and features a double-depth plan in a late Georgian style. The building has three storeys and a basement, with a symmetrical front that includes a two-window range. The entrance door is positioned to the left in No. 50, which is part of the same listing. There is a plat band and upper rusticated pilaster strips leading to a moulded coping. The six-panel door is complemented by a 19th-century wrought-iron porch, and the windows have raised surrounds with 6/6-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there are attached wrought-iron front area railings with urn finials, which match the surrounds of No. 46 next door.
