Description

No. 88 Wallisdown Road is a picturesque cottage dating from around 1850. It has a ground floor and a semi-attic, featuring a stucco gable facing the road and the rest constructed of pinkish red brick. There is a lean-to extension on the east side, with a gabled dormer above it. Adjoining this is a brick porch that has a 4-centred arch beneath the gable. The cottage originally had mullioned casements with diamond lattice glazing, which are no longer present. The ground floor has three lights with a transom, while the first floor has two lights. The roof is steeply pitched, covered in slate, with overhanging eaves and plain bargeboards. This building is part of a group of listed buildings along Wallisdown Road and Columbia Road.
