Description
No. 58 Wallisdown Road is a picturesque cottage built around 1850. It is a substantial two-storey building with a symmetrical stucco facade, while the sides and rear are constructed of red brick, including the ground floor of the porch. The cottage features a central two-storey gabled porch, which has an overhanging first floor supported by brackets. The entrance is a four-centred arch with a door that has four flush panels. There is one window on each side of the porch: the ground floor windows are mullioned casements with diamond lattice glazing, consisting of three lights with a transom, while the first floor windows under the gables have two lights. The porch gable and end gables are adorned with saddle-stones and kneelers, and the roof is tiled. All the listed buildings in Wallisdown Road and Columbia Road form a group.
