Description
No. 112 on Wallisdown Road is a picturesque cottage built around 1850. It has a ground floor and a semi-attic, constructed from pinkish buff brick with some grey headers. The gable end faces the road and extends low over lean-to extensions on either side. The cottage features mullioned casements with diamond lattice glazing, consisting of three lights with a transom on the ground floor and two lights on the first floor. The steeply pitched roofs are adorned with ornamental scalloped tiles arranged in bands alongside ordinary tiles, and the eaves overhang with plain bargeboards. A gabled brick porch with a four-centred arch is located at the corner, and there are diagonally set pairs of chimneystacks on the ridge. This building is part of a group of listed buildings along Wallisdown Road and Columbia Road.
