Description
No. 156 on Wallisdown Road is a picturesque cottage built around 1850. It features a ground floor and a semi-attic, constructed from buff brick with a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a gable end facing the road and a steeply pitched roof adorned with pierced and traceried bargeboards. There is a porch next to the cottage, also gabled towards the road and featuring pierced bargeboards. The windows are mullioned casements with diamond lattice glazing. The gable ends include canted bays with hipped roofs on the ground floor and 2-light windows on the first floor. Additionally, there are two chimney breasts that rise through the eaves, topped with bowed rectangular stacks. This cottage is part of a group of listed buildings along Wallisdown Road and Columbia Road.
