The gate piers and street boundary wall at Sandhills date from the 19th century. The wall is 6 feet high and constructed of red brick, featuring a brick coping. The gate piers at the lodge entrance are stuccoed. This structure, along with Lava Cottage, Nelson's Cottage, and the lodge at Sandhills, forms a group of local interest.
