Lodge & Gates, Auchinfore House

The lodge and gates at Auchinfore House date from the late 19th century. The single-storey lodge is designed in a T-plan with a later addition at the rear. It features stugged, squared, and snecked rubble, with stugged red sandstone margins and some polished ashlar dressings, along with a base course.

On the west elevation, there is a gabled arcaded loggia porch that projects at the center, featuring paired Romanesque arches supported by a central colonnette. The gablehead has a red sandstone blind oculus, with oculi on the returns and a modern inner door. Windows are located in the flanking outer bays.

The north elevation has a gable with a bipartite window at the center and a terracotta plaque in the gablehead. The lodge has plate glass, timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with lead flashings, and a squat ridge stack.

The gates, gatepiers, and boundary wall consist of square gatepiers made of red sandstone ashlar with domed caps and studded ball finials. There is a small pedestrian gate to the right. The boundary wall features a squared whinstone curved quadrant wall with ashlar slab coping, along with arrowhead cast-iron gates for both the drive and pedestrian access.
