Description
Airedale Cottage is a house located on North Road in Combe Down/Williamstowe, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with dressed quoins and features a Roman tile roof. It is built in two sections with a straight joint, with the right section being lower and returning to set back from the adjoining properties.
The exterior of the cottage is two storeys high and includes various sash windows. On the first floor, there are two nine-pane sashes and a single plain sash. The entrance features a plank door set in a segmental arch with a flush surround and keystone on the left side, and a four-panel door with a transom light and a moulded cornice on consoles to the right, leading to a through passage. The gables are coped, with an external stack on the right and an eaves stack on the left, positioned between paired windows. The left return of the building has a platband that continues from the adjacent property, No. 146. The rear of the cottage has three windows. The interior has not been inspected.
