Description

This is a terrace of ten houses at Nos. 2-11 Lyndhurst Terrace, built in the early 19th century with later 20th-century additions. The houses are constructed from limestone ashlar with slate roofs and moulded stacks along the shared party walls. They have double-depth plans. Each house is two storeys high and has a two-window front. A coped parapet and cornice run along the top, with a frieze above the windows. Original houses have six-over-six pane sash windows; those on the ground floor are set within segmental arched recesses. They originally had six-panel doors. Number 2 has plate glass sash windows and a 20th-century door. Number 3 has two-over-two pane sash windows to the first floor, a six-over-six pane sash to the ground floor, and a five-panel door with glazed upper panels. Number 4 has six-over-six pane sash windows and a 20th-century six-panel door. Number 5 has two-over-two pane sash windows and a 20th-century six-panel door. Number 6 has two-over-two pane sash windows and a six-panel door with glazed upper panels. Numbers 7 and 8 are similar to each other. Number 9 has 20th-century six-over-six pane sash windows and a 20th-century door. Numbers 10 and 11 are similar to each other, with six-over-six pane sash windows and a 20th-century six-panel door. The interiors were not inspected.
