Description
Iford Mill is a 17th-century mill that has been converted into a house, with alterations made in the 1960s. The building consists of two sections: the left part features rubble and freestone dressings, while the right part is constructed of ashlar. It has a stone slate roof and stands two storeys high with attics that include five gabled dormers. The left section has two windows, and the right section has five windows, all of which are 20th-century casements with two and three lights set in moulded surrounds and mullions. On the ground floor of the left part, there is a four-centre headed doorway and a three-light casement with edge moulded mullions. The right section includes a segmental headed archway for the mill race, with a 20th-century door accessed by a flight of steps. The rear elevation features a weathered string and a buttress with offsets on the eastern side. Inside, the roof has been restored and replaced, consisting of seven bays with collar beam trusses that have cambered collars and curved windbraces.
